The Rectory, Chester (27/10/2011).

Yet another generic, pseudo-gastro bar...

"hello, have you got any real ale". "Yes, "we've got Bombardier". "We'll, great, three pints of Bombardier then please". "Sorry, it's off"! "It's okay though, you can have two cocktails for £6.95". "well, that more than makes up for our disappointment". "Thank you so much".

Apart from the bar maids "boyfriend" who was sitting disinterestedly at the bar, we were the only ones in there. Give this one a swerve.

The Little Oak, Chester (CBP).

A big thumbs up to Aki and his efforts to put on a splendid Beer Fest at the above venue last night. Very enjoyable night and a great success. Especially enjoyed the improvisational guitarist who added to the night's atmosphere. Good selection of ales too!
